'Rent Is Too Damn High,' Says Katie Brennan, Declaring Victory In NJ Assembly Race

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — Polls for the 32nd District Assembly race closed at 8 p.m., and results are coming in.

Four candidates ran for two seats representing Hoboken and part of Jersey City in the state Assembly.

A spokesperson for Katie Brennan said around 9:15 p.m. that she had won one of the two seats in the state legislature. Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla is likely to take the other seat.

“We heard loud and clear that people want representatives who are really going to fight for them," Brennan said. "...The rent is too damn high. Our transit systems are falling apart. Working families are getting squeezed while big corporations make record profits. "
