HOBOKEN, NJ — A Hoboken developer has signed a lease to bring the Brooklyn-based Dumbo Market to the southwest section of town, a spokesperson said Saturday.

Southend Lofts, the condo building at 38 Jackson St., will open this winter. The 12,700-square-foot store will be part of the 50,000-square-foot ground-floor retail space.

The building will also include 110 condos.

The location will be Dumbo Market’s first New Jersey store.

"Expected to open in approximately 12 months, the market will offer a curated selection of globally sourced cheeses, fresh organic produce, hot food prepared by an onsite chef, salads, sushi, flowers, convenient grocery options, and a full-service liquorstore," noted a spokesperson for the developer.

Ruben Ramos, the councilman for that area of town, said Sunday, "I'm thrilled to see Dumbo Market announce that it will soon be coming to Southwest Hoboken to give residents a new option for groceries and much more right in our neighborhood. This is a direct result of the redevelopment agreement that I spearheaded along with Councilman Paul Presinzano, and it's an example of the kinds of community givebacks that can happen when we engage with developers and collaborate to get better results for our residents."

He added, "In this case we are bringing a grocery store, restaurants and a public preschool to the neighborhood."
