Beloved Hoboken Musician Seeks Lost Instrument, Offers $500 Reward
Case of the missing instrument: A musician beloved in Hoboken and beyond is offering a reward for his guitar. Here's what happened.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Gene Turnonis is singing a tale of woe.
He's well known fixture in Hoboken, as he's been a plumber in the mile-square city for decades, and his wife has been involved in several groups in town. He's performed music around New Jersey for just as long under the name — appropriately — Gene D. Plumber.
He's represented by Bar None Records, alongside The Feelies, Alex Chilton, the dB's, They Might Be Giants, and more.

Turns and friends have been asking around Hoboken if anyone has seen his guitar, which they believe fell out of his car last Wednesday after a local performance.
The instrument is a 1960s Guild Starfire dark red sunburst hollow body.
After he performed at the Hoboken bar Finnegan's Pub at 734 Willow Ave., he says, the guitar, in its black case, may have fallen from the car as he was heading home.
He believed it may have tumbled onto Park Avenue, Willow Avenue, or Third Street.
He's offering a $500 reward for the return of the instrument. If you've seen the case around, he'd like to know that too.
"A beloved piece of Hoboken's musical history is missing," his friends said.
