Cake Boss: Proud To Be From Hoboken
Buddy Valastro received a proclamation from Hoboken's City Council Wednesday night.
Before the city council entered into what would be a nearly seven-hour council meeting Wednesday night, Buddy "Cake Boss" Valastro stopped by around 7 p.m. to receive a proclamation from the city.
First Ward Councilwoman Theresa Castellano and Third Ward Councilman Michael Russo handed him the proclamations, honoring him for the business and the positive publicity Valastro has brought to Hoboken.
"In a time that we desperately needed some really good publicity," said Castellano, "Carlo's Bakery did that for us."

"Who ever thought that I'd be standing here, getting awards like this?" Valastro said.
Valastro became famous because of "The Cake Boss," his popular reality television show on TLC. The show follows the family business and zooms in on Valastro's delicious creations.
Due to the fame the show has brought him, getting into his store can be nearly impossible, because of a long line of fans out the door—sometimes even around the corner.
Valastro apologized to the members of the public for the long waiting lines in front of his bakery. He said he's thinking of how to expand, and will try to accomodate his Hoboken patrons as best he can.
"I will never forget where I came from," Valastro said. "I'm proud to be from Hoboken."
Valastro is currently filming the third season of his TLC hit reality show The Cake Boss.
