Urban Obstacle Race, Bark in the Park, Comedy Festival This Weekend

*Liberty Humane Society’s annual Bark in the Park festival and fundraising event will be held this Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. in Church Square Park.

*City Challenge, a race that challenges runners with more than a dozen physical obstacles over a four-mile course, is coming to Hoboken this Saturday. Runners start in waves from Pier A Park every half hour beginning at 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

*The six-day Hoboken Comedy Festival concludes this weekend with performances on Saturday at the Hoboken Elks Lodge, headlined by Jessimae Peluso, and performances on Sunday at the Pilsener Haus and Biergarten, headlined by Artie Lange.

*Hoboken's Green Team will host the city's 2nd Annual Green Fair on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Pier A Park. The fair, which features live music and organic food vendors, is intended to raise awareness of environmental issues and introduce residents to sustainable lifestyle choices.

*The Mile Square Theatre company will open a two-week run of the musical "A Year With Frog and Toad," this Saturday at Monroe Theatrespace. The show will run from Oct. 5 through Oct. 20 on Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., and Sundays at  11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

*Free trees will be given away to residents of Hudson County as part of the Super Bowl XLVIII Urban Forestry Program on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Hoboken Recycling Center.

*Kids and parents can come follow Alice, the White Rabbit and other classic characters from Lewis Carroll stories in an interactive song-and-dance journey through Hoboken that begins at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Shipyard Park (14th Street) and continues to Maxwell Park (11th Street), rain or shine.

*The Hoboken Family Farmers Market is open this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 14th Street and Garden Street.
