NORTH JERSEY — A coroner in Alabama is looking for relatives of a man who died in Birmingham earlier this month and had listed previous addresses in Hoboken and Jersey City.

[UPDATE: A representative of the coroner's office said that a family member has been located.]

Sean McLaughlin, 64, was found dead in his home in Birmingham on Oct. 18, said the Jefferson County Coroner/Medical Examiner’s Office this week.

On that date, a concerned neighbor asked the Birmingham Police Department to do a welfare check on McLaughlin, who lived on the 2600 block of 11th Avenue South, said Chief Deputy Coroner William Yates.

McLaughlin had died of natural causes, said Yates' office.

The office is looking for either McLaughlin's relatives or people who have information about his family.

McLaughlin had previous addresses in Birmingham and Foley, Ala., in addition to Hoboken and Jersey City, the office said.

They said in a release, "If you are family or have knowledge of family," you should call the coroner's office at 205-930-3603.
