Fall Festival, Discounted Dinosaurs and Diabetes Walk This Weekend

*The city will celebrate the start of fall this Sunday with its annual Arts and Music Festival on Washington Street. Artists, crafters and sculptors will be among the hundreds of vendors hawking their wares on Washington Street from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., rain or shine.

*"Field Station: Dinosaurs," the 20-acre outdoor dinosaur park in Secaucus is offering discounted tickets to all Hudson County residents on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The park features life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, an interactive T-Rex, a 3-D movie called "Dinosaurs Alive!," and workshops and games created in conjunction with paleontologists at the New Jersey State Museum.

*A group of environmentally-conscious poets and musicians will perform at Bwe Kafe as part of a global day for change this Friday night. Proceeds from the event will go to the national climate change group 350.org and The Rebuild Hoboken Relief Fund.

*A Community Walk to Stop Diabetes will be held this Saturday at noon at Pier A Park. The walk, which supports the American Diabetes Association, is being sponsored by Walgreens and blk Water. Those interested in walking can register at the Walgreens on 1st and Washington streets between 10 a.m. and noon.

*The Hoboken Family Farmers Market is open every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 14th Street and Garden Street.

*The Boys and Girls Club of Newark's Annual 5k Run for Kids and 1 Mile Fun Run will be held on Saturday at Branch Brook Park in Newark. Registration for the race can be done online or starting at 8 a.m. on the morning of the race. The Fun Run starts at 9:30 a.m. and the 5k follows at 10 a.m.
