Flood Statement Issued For Hudson County Thursday: See Timing, Track Storm
A coastal flood statement was issued for the Hoboken area as a nor'easter swirls through Hudson County. See timing and track with links.
HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A coastal flood statement was issued for Hudson County for Thursday, as well as eastern Essex and eastern Union counties.
The National Weather Service says the statement applies to 2 p.m. through 7 p.m. on Thursday.
High tide, 4.7 feet, will occur around 5:11 p.m. in Hoboken on Thursday. That's generally the worst time for flooding.

(Keep your eye on the tides next week; they will rise to nearly six feet Sunday through Wednesday, and a half inch of rain is expected Tuesday.)
The NWS said for Thursday afternoon, "Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline."

That means half a foot of flooding may occur near the river or in low-lying areas, but it's a lower amount than during Hoboken's worst storms, which have brought 1-2 feet of inundation.
