HOBOKEN, NJ — A century-old building in Hoboken that held a bank and then a newspaper office will add a new use.
The limestone-clad Hoboken Trust Company bank building at Washington and 14th streets, in uptown Hoboken, opened in 1903, according to the Hoboken Historical Museum.
Around 1997, the building at 1400 Washington St. was sold to the Hudson Reporter, a weekly newspaper group that previously occupied space across the street in a basement.

In spring 2016, the newspaper chain moved to an office in Bayonne, and the building was sold to Thor Equities.
An exercise studio, Soul Cycle, moved in, and sold juice drinks in front. Soul Cycle is still there.

But this weekend, Forum Coffee, which recently opened downtown at 123 Washington St., announced that it will soon open a spot in the building as well.
How Will It Work?
"Soul Cycle will still be there," the Forum owners told Patch over the weekend. "We'll be right up front. It's the old Juice Press space. We'll have outdoor seating on both sides of the building and partnering with Soul Cycle so riders can preorder their organic Forum Freeze or Protein Freeze (Our take on smoothie protein shakes) and have them waiting when they get out of class."
The Forum Coffee brand is rapidly growing, with three other stores having recently opened in North Jersey, and another one coming in Fairfield.
They say they hope to open in Hoboken by June 2.
"We’re Excited To Announce Our 2nd Hoboken Location Uptown," they said. "At The Corner Of 14th & Washington, We’ll Be Able To Cater To All Of North Hoboken’s Organic Caffeinated Needs. We’re Also Partnering With SoulCycle To Make Sure Our Organic Smoothies & Protein Shakes Are Right There Ready For You Post Ride!"
The other (downtown) Forum Coffee location, a short walk from the Hoboken train station, serves up coffees, pastries, and specialty beverages such as a creme brulee latte. READ MORE: 5 Restaurants That Recently Opened In North Jersey
