He lived there until he was 12, after which his family moved to apartments on Park Avenue and on Garden Street. He finally left town completely in 1939 when he married his first wife, Nancy.

His parents remained in Hoboken, however, and you can see photos of their Census card and their Hoboken house here: Frank Sinatra, Joe Pesci's NJ Roots Found In Unsealed Census Data

Lawsuit from 'American Idol'

Hoboken has run its Sinatra contest for many years, but had to change the name from "Sinatra Idol" after the producers of "American Idol" threatened a lawsuit.

This year's contest will take at Sinatra Park on the central waterfront, 525 Sinatra Drive. In case of rain, it will be moved to the Hoboken Middle School auditorium, Fourth and Garden streets.

This year the contest will also be live-streamed and archived on the Hoboken Historical Museum’s YouTube page. Watch it here.
