Free Play Area Unveiled At Newport Centre Mall In Jersey City

Shopping at the mall with kids can be a drag. Now they have a free play area in the Newport Centre Mall in Jersey City.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Jersey City's Newport Centre mall — a popular shopping destination near the newport PATH station — opened its new free play area called "PLAY" recently.

A mall spokesperson said the space is "intended to be an interactive space for children that inspires creativity, fun adventures, and creates new experiences for Newport Centre’s youngest visitors."

They noted, "Kids can unleash their energy by climbing, exploring tunnels, and gliding down slides. They can also relax in our flower cups or challenge friends to a racing game, where they can run in place and lights up the light on the side of their tower - the first one to the top wins!"

They also said that their U-Create monitors feature 16 interactive educational games.

For parents, there's a special seating area to recharge phones.

The play area is intended for kids under 42 inches, they said.

The play area is located on level 1 in front of Kohl’s, near The Children’s Place and H&M, 30 Mall Drive West, Jersey City, NJ 07310.
