Hoboken Assemblyman To Attend Dem Convention in North Carolina
Assemblyman Ruben Ramos Jr. will be in North Carolina as one of the delegates next week.
Hoboken will be represented at next week's Democratic National Convention by Assemblyman Ruben Ramos Jr.
The convention will run from Sept. 3 through Sept. 7 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
"I am honored that the Obama campaign has chosen me to be a representative of New Jersey at this year’s convention," Ramos said in a statement. "I’ve attended the Democratic presidential nominating conventions twice in the past, but not as a delegate."

Ramos served on the Convention’s Platform Committee and delivered a keynote speech in 2000, and on the Convention’s Credentials Committee in 2004.
"The 2012 election is so important for the future of our country,” continued Ramos. “Obama has reined the economy in from the brink of collapse, and the entire GOP field is seeking to undo all of the progress we’ve made over the last four years. I will be proud to support our President at the Convention and stand up for the Democratic values I’ve been fighting for right here in New Jersey for over a decade"
