HOBOKEN, NJ — Two school board incumbents and a newcomer appeared to be in the lead in Hoboken's school board race by Wednesday morning.

Mail-in ballots still have to be counted over the next few days.

Six candidates ran for three seats on the nine-member board overseeing the public schools. The elections are non-partisan.

The results as of Wednesday morning, 7 a.m., with 100 percent of districts reporting on the machines:

  • Leslie Norwood (incumbent): 6,305
  • Antonio Graña (incumbent): 5,770
  • Elizabeth "Lizy" Velez: 5,838
  • Russ Koyfman: 3,018
  • Laura Block: 5,142
  • Tim Smith: 4,462
  • Write-In: 199
