Hoboken Flood Watch: See Storm Timing, Maps Showing Expected Rain Amounts

More 2 inches of rain may fall Thursday into Friday in Hudson County. See the timing and links to track the storm on radar.

HOBOKEN, NJ — More than two inches of rain could fall in Hudson County Thursday into Friday, the National Weather Service says.

A flood watch is in effect from 2 p..m. Thursday to 2 p.m. Friday.

Around 9:30 a.m., the radar showed a slow-moving band of storms west of New Jersey. Forecasters expect the biggest downpour in the Hudson County area around 2 p.m.

Hoboken officials have said that flash flooding usually occurs when more than 0.8 inches of rain fall in town per hour. The possibility also increases near high tide, which will be around 2:30 p.m. Thursday and 2:30 a.m. Friday.

An extreme heat warning, hazardous weather outlook, and air quality alert have also been issued.
