Hoboken High School Football Celebrates Historic 9–1 Season And Undefeated Regular Season

HOBOKEN, NJ — The Hoboken High School Redwings have completed one of the most dominant and memorable football seasons in program history, finishing 9–1 with an undefeated regular season under the leadership of Head Coach Joseph Borkowski. With a high-powered offense, a disciplined defense, and a senior class that embodied resilience and excellence, the Redwings reaffirmed that Hoboken Football is back.

Across ten games, the Redwings showcased extraordinary balance on both sides of the ball, scoring 286 points (28.6 ppg) while allowing just 114 (11.4 ppg). Their physicality, execution, and unity propelled them to the top of the league and positioned multiple athletes among the area’s top performers.

Head Coach Joseph Borkowski praised the pride and commitment of his players, stating, “This group of young athletes committed themselves fully to our mission from day one. They worked with purpose, they trusted each other, and they represented Hoboken with toughness and class every time they stepped on the field. Quarterback Isaiah Blanks led the charge with a standout season, completing 95 of 165 passes for 1,628 yards, 19 touchdowns, and only 5 interceptions, while adding 302 rushing yards and 8 rushing touchdowns.

Running back Devin McMillan delivered one of the strongest rushing seasons in recent history, totaling 157 carries for 1,184 yards and 13 touchdowns, plus 12 receptions for 121 yards and 3 receiving touchdowns.

Wide receiver Jae’on Walker emerged as an electrifying playmaker, recording 40 receptions for 896 yards and 12 receiving touchdowns.

The Redwings’ defense posted two shutouts and set the tone with their intensity and discipline.
Top tacklers included Devin McMillan (75), Nick Benway (54), and Angelis Reyes (51).
The pass rush was anchored by Isaiah Blanks (4.5 sacks) and Anthony Lopez (3 sacks).
In the secondary, Samond Walker led with 5 interceptions, consistently shutting down opposing receivers.

Principal Robin Piccapietra highlighted the team’s influence on the school community, “This football team did far more than win games—they brought our school together. Their work ethic, sportsmanship, and leadership inspired students throughout the building and restored a sense of pride that is felt in every hallway. I am incredibly proud of our athletes and coaches for building something truly special. This season represents the heart of Hoboken, and the future of this program is bright.”

This season, multiple Hoboken High School football players were celebrated with League Honors, a testament to their hard work, talent, and impact on the Redwings’ success.
