Hoboken Kids Graduate From Junior Police Academy

After two weeks of discipline, drills and exercise, three squads—red, white and blue—received their certifications on Thursday afternoon.

Twenty-three Hoboken kids got a little taste of what it's like to be a police officer over the past two weeks.

On Thursday afternoon, three squads graduated and the students received awards and certificates during a ceremony on the Stevens Campus.

"Hopefully we'll see some of (you) on the police force," said Hoboken Captain James Fitzsimmons. When asked if the students had a good time, they answered "sir, yes, sir," in unison.

Boxing trainer Teddy Atlas came in as the keynote speaker of the afternoon, inspiring the students to accept challenges life brings.
