Hoboken Menorah Lighting, Chanukah Bar Crawl, Family Events This Weekend

The Annual Grand Menorah Lighting on Dec. 21 will feature a puppet show and music. Several other Chanukah events are also scheduled.

This year’s Hoboken Annual Grand Menorah Lighting will feature a puppet show, traditional cuisine, dreidels and family friendly activities for all.

The menorah lighting will be held on Sunday, Dec. 21 at City Hall, located at 94 Washington Street. Doors will open at 3:40 p.m. The Small Wonder Puppet Theater returns to Hoboken to perform “The Chanukah Story” – a brand new production featuring music and stories that are perfect for children and families. Pizza will be served. The show begins at 4 p.m.

The Grand Menorah Lighting will begin outside City Hall at 5 p.m. Sufganiyot (donuts) and Levivot (Latkes) will be served. Dreidels and wild glow in the dark glasses will be given out. The Grand Menorah Lighting is sponsored by Chabad Hoboken and United Synagogue of Hoboken.

Several other Chanukah events are scheduled for this weekend. The United Synagogue of Hoboken will host a party for families with children 5-years-old and younger at 5:15 p.m. on Dec. 20. The party will feature Havdalah, candle lighting, refreshments and entertainment. RSVP to Kaplan Coop Preschool.
