Police Seek 3 'Illegal And Dangerous' Motorcycle Riders In Hoboken, Release 4 Photos
Hoboken police say 3 "dangerous' motorcyclists rode through town, eluded them, and headed into Jersey City and Weehawken.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Police in Hoboken say that three people on motorcycles caused a dangerous situation last week while riding through the mile-square city, which has gone more than seven years without a traffic-related fatality.
Residents often complain about loud cars and bikes passing through the city, a dense area located between the Holland and Lincoln tunnels. By the time the driver is reported, they have often left.

But police believe two recent motorcycles have created a dangerous enough situation that they are looking for information. They released four photos on Thursday.

Police say that on Aug. 25, at approximately 7:15 p.m., police saw three motorcycles enter Hoboken via the 14th Street Viaduct, which leads up to Jersey City Heights and Union City.
Police say the trio turned south onto Willow Avenue, a county road.

None of the riders were wearing helmets or obeyed traffic signals, police said.

"A short time later, the three vehicles were observed on Washington Street where they eluded multiple attempts by officers to stop them," police said, "and continued traveling throughout Hoboken ignoring red lights and stop signs."
Two of the motorcycles fled Hoboken via the 14th Street Viaduct, police said, eventually making their way into Jersey City.
A third person, who had a passenger on board as well, left via the Park Avenue Bridge into Weehawken, police said.
The HPD’s Detective Bureau Street Crimes Unit continues to investigate and has asked anyone with information or surveillance video from those locations on the night of Aug. 25, between 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., to contact Det. Sgt. William Collins at (201) 420-2100 ext. 3152, or CollinsW@hobokenpdnj.gov.
Police said they'll face the charge of eluding, as well as numerous motor vehicle violations.
