Hoboken Store Says Last Goodbye On Friday Night

She will still sell art around town, she said, probably at festivals and in other places.

"Daisy's Wearable Art" has occupied a small storefront on historic First Street for six years, Arroyo said.

She painted clothes and accessories, as well as intricate greeting cards and more.

Arroyo said that she built a base of regular customers, some of whom checked in when they heard she was closing and offered to buy her art — including a past customer who's now in Austria.

But it's time, she said on Friday inside the shop.

"The sales were not enough to support the overhead," she said. "People keep buying online. Sometimes they forget to support local owners."

Arroyo said she was gratified by how many people have been coming in to make purchases and say goodbye.

She said customers could stop by until 7 p.m. on Friday, or say hello via her Instagram account.

Daisy's Wearables is located at 260 First St.
