Which Hudson County Hospitals Got 'A' For Safety? See The List, Grades

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — Several Hudson County hospitals were among those in the region to receive a new safety rating from a non-profit watchdog organization, part of its twice-yearly grades.

The Leapfrog Group, an independent health care nonprofit, recently released its results for Spring 2025.

The group uses a scale with five letter grades to score nearly 3,000 hospitals nationwide on more than 30 measures of patient safety.

New Jersey Does Well

New Jersey ranked third among all states for the percentage of hospitals receiving “A” grades in the Spring 2025 report card. READ MORE: 36 NJ Hospitals Earn 'A' Grade In New Safety Ranking

Leapfrog says its hospital rating system is the only one in the country focusing solely on a hospital’s ability to protect patients from preventable errors.

Among the criteria, the group looks at the safety of surgery and recovery, including the spread of illnesses within the hospital.
