Hudson County OEM: Secure Holiday Decorations, Rain Expected

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — You might want to secure those Christmas decorations, Hudson County.

On Thursday morning, the Hudson County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) issued a weather advisory that will begin Dec. 20 and last until the evening of Friday, Dec. 21.

According to the OEM’s Thursday message:

“Heavy rain expected tonight into Friday night. Potential for widespread minor to locally moderate coastal flooding during times of high tide Friday morning. Strong sustained winds of 15 to 30 mph with gusts 40 to 45 mph, especially along the coast, are possible late tonight into Friday evening. Isolated higher gusts may occur in heavy rainfall.”

The OEM offered a piece of advice for those with Christmas-related items on their property: “Secure any outdoor furniture, holiday decorations and debris at construction sites.”
