Liberty Humane Society Needs Help Finding Homes For ‘Big Dogs’

LHS: "We have more than 30 dogs up for adoption right now, and we could use your help finding them both new permanent and temporary homes."

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — Big dogs need love, too.

Earlier this week, the Liberty Humane Society, which serves Hoboken and Jersey City, issued a call for assistance, asking local animal lovers to help find permanent and foster homes for more than 30 dogs in their custody.

“We have more than 30 dogs up for adoption right now, and we could use your help finding them both new permanent and temporary homes, especially our ‘big dogs,’” the shelter wrote in an email.

“Our kennel is really full and stray dogs just keep coming,” the LHS continued. “We need your help to find temporary foster homes for some of our medium-to-large dogs. Foster homes need to be able to keep a dog separate from any resident pets. The time commitment is flexible, as we're hoping for 2 to 4 weeks. LHS will provide a crate and any supplies needed. Anyone interested can apply right here and we can help match them with the right dog. Please share and encourage friends to consider fostering. You will be helping to save lives.”
