“As a McDonald’s owner/operator for more than 35 years, I am so honored to be a part of the communities we serve, and I’m thrilled to introduce our Bayonne customers to our newly renovated restaurant for a modern McDonald’s experience,” said McDonald’s Owner/Operator Ana Madan. “I would like to thank our local fire and police departments, as well as Council Member Gary La Pelusa, Council Member Juan M. Perez, Councilman Neil Carroll, Council Member candidate Loyad Booker Jr., and our community for joining us for this special occasion. My restaurant staff and I are very excited to welcome our customers back to this restaurant!”
Born in Havana, Cuba, Madan’s family left to the United States in 1960. She began as a crew member and was approved as an owner/operator in 1986, when she became one of the youngest women at the time to be approved in the system. Her first McDonald's restaurant is in McCarter Highway in Newark, New Jersey. Today, Madan and her daughter Ariana Russo are the proud owners of nine McDonald's restaurants. Throughout her years at McDonald’s, Madan has held several positions, most recently as the National Chair of the McDonald’s Hispanic Owner/Operator Association, the first woman to hold that post in the organization’s 50-year history. She was also the first woman and the only Hispanic to serve as President of McDonald’s New York Metro Coop.
