A tractor trailer collision on the New Jersey Turnpike in Elizabeth claimed a North Bergen woman early Friday morning, authorities said.

ELIZABETH, NJ - A tractor trailer collision on the New Jersey Turnpike in Elizabeth claimed a North Bergen woman early Friday morning, authorities said.

Zadira Reyes, 32, sustained fatal injuries after her disabled Hyundai Elantra was struck by a Freightliner tractor trailer at around 2:20 a.m. in the outer roadway near milepost 100.8 in Elizabeth, a New Jersey State Police spokesperson told Patch.

A preliminary investigation found that the Hyundai Elantra struck a tanker truck and Freightliner bobtail as a result of the tractor trailer crash, police said.

As a result of the collisions, the tractor trailer overturned, police said.

The tractor trailer driver sustained minor injuries; the drivers of the other vehicles were not injured.

All lanes were reopened at about 8:20 a.m. on Friday, police said. The accident remains under investigation.
