The Brick, a brick oven pizza restaurant on Hoboken's main drag of Washington Street, offers a range of unusual toppings on their specialty pies, from grilled peach to cauliflower to Brussel sprouts.

Their Sweet Mango pie, at $29.65 for a large, includes a cavalcade of tastes: mozzarella and feta cheeses, jalapeno peppers and jalapeño salsa if you like, bacon, red onions, cilantro, and of course, ample mangoes.

I first ordered this after a late-night outing with family members and it was enjoyed by all. I particularly loved the contrast of the feta and the sweet mango.

The bacon and spicy jalapeños sent it over the top, but I tried it the next time without either, preferring sweeter and milder tastes.

For finicky eaters, you can try a half sweet mango and half of another specialty pie, so there's something for everyone; the price is usually close to the same.

The Brick offers lunch specials during the week, an array of pasta dishes, and vegan options.

There's room to sit inside or outdoors. It's located about a mile walk from the Hoboken Train terminal.

The brick is located at 1122 Washington St. and can be reached at 201-942-9999. Their website is here.
