HOBOKEN, NJ — A popular Lebanese restaurant chain that opened a location in Jersey City last year has changed its plan to come to a spot on lower Washington Street in Hoboken.

"The location ... is no longer slated to open as a Naya," a spokesperson told Hoboken Patch this week. "However the brand is currently looking at other site options."

Reports in other media had noted that the chain applied to the city's Historic Preservation Board to use the storefront formerly occupied by Cheap Maggie's discount clothing store. The prime spot is near the southern end of the city's main street, at 216 Washington St.
