Hoboken Neighborhood Under 'Boil Water' Advisory After Contractor Strikes Pipe
A portion of Hoboken is under a "boil water" advisory after a contractor struck a pipe on Monday night.
HOBOKEN, NJ — Days after Hoboken residents suffered from a water main break, one part of town was put back under a "boil water" advisory after a contractor struck a pipe.
Veolia Water issued the advisory around 10:30 p.m. on Monday.
The city of Hoboken said, "A boil water advisory has been issued for parts of the city. This includes Fifth through 10th streets, between Adams and the western boundary; inclusive of both sides of all the streets in the advisory area."

The problem began around 5 p.m. on Monday when a private contractor struck a water line, the city said.
Veolia Water posted around 5 p.m. Monday, "Crews are responding to a leak at a construction site near Seventh and Madison."

Photos posted on the internet showed a growing pool of water.
Around 6 p.m., the city of Hoboken elaborated in a message: "Veolia is conducting repairs to a 10-inch water main near the intersection of Madison and Seventh Streets, after a contractor on private property struck the line earlier this afternoon."
The area is on the west side of town, blocks from the 9th Street Light Rail station.
The city closed Seventh Street near Madison Street.
