Surveillance Cameras Installed at Hoboken Housing Authority

The cameras are supposed to increase safety in the building.

New surveillance cameras were installed in Harrison Gardens, the Hoboken Housing Authority announced on Thursday.

Twelve new cameras will be placed in the lobby and the elevators of the building on Fourth and Harrison Streets.

Lack of working surveillance cameras has long been a complaint from residents in the HHA.

Harrison Gardens is a building with a lot of visitors and increased surveillance may help discouraging illegal or unannounced trespassers.

“We are deploying measures to increase the safety of our residents,” said Executive Director of the HHA Carmelo Garcia. “These cameras will deter inappropriate activity in our buildings and give a new feeling of security to our residents.”
