Transgender Day Of Remembrance To Be Held In Hoboken Thursday
A candlelight vigil for Transgender Day of Remembrance will be held Thursday.
HOBOKEN, NJ — The city of Hoboken will co-host an event on Thursday to remember transgender people who were lost to violence and discrimination.
The city and the City’s Pride Advisory Committee have invited the community to the candlelight vigil for Transgender Day of Remembrance at 7 p.m.
The ceremony will be held at Stevens Park, at the corner of Fifth and Hudson streets.

The city said, in its announcement, "Community members are encouraged to come together in support and solidarity to affirm Hoboken’s commitment to inclusivity, dignity, and respect for all."
Last year, Forbes said that 350 transgender people had been killed in violence worldwide over the previous 12 months.
