Union City, NJ- Pauly Walnuts, a local shih tzu, managed to get a quick photo shoot with the busy mayor in a bid to be crowned the Tail Of Hudson County.

Pet owners from all over Hudson County have been entering their pets over the last few weeks in the annual ‘Tail of the year’ pet competition - a local competition run by pet sitting company Trusty Tails.

Pet owners had to submit a picture of their pet and a round of public voting and judging decided which 12 pets (cats and dogs) would represent each county.

The 12 finalists, one from each county, are now looking for the support of local pet owners to help them be crowned the Tail of Hudson County and take the title from last year’s winner - a Union City pit bull named Luna.

"This year it has been amazing to see so many pet owners across the county get involved in the competition and take the most amazing pictures of their pets. We are always so happy to see how much pet owners of Hudson County love their pets,” said Heather Gada, owner and founder of Trusty Tails.
