Bike With A Bunny In Hazlet: Bicycling Parade Returns April 1
Middle Road in Hazlet will be bunny friendly on April 1, so Hazlet police are letting motorists know to be prepared for limited access.

HAZLET, NJ — The third annual Bike With A Bunny event is coming up on April 1, and that means more fun for kids and suspiciously large "bunnies" - but maybe a little less for motorists that morning.
Police advise that on Saturday, April 1, from 10 a.m. until about 11:30 a.m. there will be closures and delays on Middle Road from Highway 36 to Green Acres Drive to accommodate the parade.
Officers will be stopping traffic as the parade passes through intersections. It would be wise to plan an alternate route the morning of the event, police say.

Bike With A Bunny is a free group ride or walk for kids 13 and under. It begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 11:30 a.m.
Kids are invited to follow the Bunny down Middle Road, from Airport Plaza to Veterans Park, a flat 1.7-mile-long route.
Younger children have the option to push off from Middle Road Elementary School, 305 Middle Road, for a shorter route to Veterans Park.
Adults are welcome to push prams, strollers, wagons and wheelchairs, or ride or walk alongside children.
No registration is necessary in 2023.
Here are some guidelines:
- Prep your stroller, wagon, bike, etc. for the parade. Decorations are encouraged.
- Helmets are a must for kids.
- Check the tires on your bike before setting off.
- If you are on a motorized bike, switch it to pedal power.
Kids 5 and under without older siblings are invited to launch their ride from Middle Road School, 305 Middle Road. Parents may ride with children.
Children over 6 gather at Airport Plaza for a longer ride. Parent parking will be located in areas closest to the highway to allow Airport Plaza businesses to serve customers.
Hazlet police will be on duty to help you get into your spot. Once you do, walk directly to the plaza's sidewalk to get out of the parking lot. It is recommended you access Airport Plaza from Route 36 East to reduce traffic knots in the parking lot.
Firetrucks will lead the way, sirens will sound. First Aid will follow the parade.
Upon arriving in Veterans Park, children can pose for photos with the Bunny at the gazebo.
