Hazlet Transformer Fire Cuts Power To Traffic Lights Tuesday: Police

8:29 a.m. update: Traffic has been restored to Route 36, per Hazlet police.

HAZET, NJ - A transformer fire in Hazlet caused multiple power outages in town Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Several traffic lights on Route 36 are currently not working, Hazlet police said in an alert around 8 a.m. Motorists are urged to use an alternate route.

It was not immediately clear where the location of the transformer fire was Tuesday morning.
