Holmdel Police “Goal: Zero” Campaign To Take Place On Thursday

The campaign intends to "confront the staggering rise in traffic deaths NJ has seen," police said.

HOLMDEL, NJ — Holmdel Police’s next "Goal: Zero" campaign is scheduled to take place on Thursday on Highway 34.

From 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., officials said the campaign’s county-wide enforcement detail will be on the road. The intent of the campaign is to “confront the staggering rise in traffic deaths NJ has seen,” according to police.

As of Monday, police said NJ is up to 413 fatalities in 2024, with 36 of those fatalities occurring in Monmouth County. This number is a 12.8% increase over the same time frame last year.

“Traffic safety culture and driving behaviors need to change in order to keep people alive on NJ roadways,” Holmdel Police said. “Law enforcement agencies in Monmouth County are dedicated to lowering these numbers and keeping our roadways safe.”
