“This isn’t about me, or the five people on the dais. It’s about us,” Impreveduto said in an address to residents. “It’s about remembering why we chose Holmdel in the first place. It’s the ‘why’ behind that decision.”
“The ‘why’ will unite us, it will bind us, it will help us make Holmdel a place unlike the rest of the country or the world, where politics and special interests can divide a populace, can divide our residents,” Impreveduto continued. “We will use the ‘why’ as the stark reminder of what we need to do to continue to achieve for our community.”
“We will strive to do better, we will strive to do more – for our families, for our community,” he said. “We will always have what’s best for Holmdel in mind, and we will execute with that guiding principle now and forever.”
Impreveduto was nominated to his role as mayor by Foster during Monday’s reorganization. The committee approved his nomination with the exception of Buontempo, who voted no after citing differences on policy issues.
In addition to voting no on Impreveduto’s appointment, Buontempo also voted no on Foster’s appointment as deputy mayor, citing policy differences there as well.
Alongside the Township Committee appointments made during Monday’s meeting, Holmdel also made various professional appointments and appointments of board and committee members.
