NJ Motor Vehicle Commission “Agency On Wheels” Returns To Hazlet

Customers can use the agency to obtain non-driver IDs, renew vehicle registrations and more, according to officials.

HAZLET, NJ — The NJ Motor Vehicle Commission's “Agency on Wheels” will return to the Hazlet Municipal Complex on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The truck-style vehicle will contain most of the features present in a traditional MVC agency, according to officials.

Customers can use the mobile units to renew or obtain duplicate driver licenses, obtain a non-driver ID, renew vehicle registration, or obtain a Person with a Disability, Purple Heart, or Disabled Veteran parking placard.

Appointments are required, according to officials.

Driver’s Licenses
The mobile units will provide drivers with the opportunity to renew their license, obtain a duplicate license and change their name or address on their license, according to officials.

Customers will also be able to add a boat endorsement, add a veteran designation, register to vote and/or make organ donation selections.

Non-Driver Identification Cards
Mobile units will be able to provide residents with photo identification that may serve as a primary or secondary form of personal ID, officials said.

Registrations
Drivers may renew their registration or obtain a duplicate registration card for their vehicle in the Mobile Units, according to officials.

Real ID
Mobile Units can provide REAL ID to a limited number of customers, according to officials.

Customers with scheduled appointments for REAL IDs must arrive no later than 11:30 a.m. on the day of the appointment.

License Plates
Mobile Units will allow drivers the option to surrender license plates, officials said.

Placards
Drivers may obtain a Persons with Disability, Purple Heart, or Disabled Veteran placard from the Mobile Units, according to officials.

Examination Permits
Customers can apply for an examination permit to take a written (law/knowledge) test, though the written test itself is not available in the Mobile Units, officials said.

Residents can visit NJMVC.gov for test locations.

Wheelchair Accessible
NJMVC Mobil Units are wheelchair accessible and easy for all to use, according to officials.
