Dearborn Market is hosting a fresh foods in spring workshop on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Prepare and cook simple “old school” Italian dishes inspired by ingredients that are fresh and in-season like broccoli rabe, fava beans, eggplant and more.

In Hazlet
The Hazlet Library has a ton of great programs every week, which they have uploaded to our Patch community calendar. This week, enjoy a melted crayon canvas workshop and learn to get funky with a class medium! Bring old clothes and a hair dryer. Starts at 6 p.m. tonight.
Also at the Hazlet Library: During the month of April, you can erase one dollar in fines for every non-perishable food item you bring to the library to donate to The FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
The Township Committee is meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in Town Hall.
The Planning Board is meeting on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in Town Hall.
Free Sandy workshops
Tuesday at 7 p.m.: Ellis, Ged& Bodden, P.A. will be hosting an educational seminar for you to learn about Hurricane Sandy property damage recovery at the Holmdel Inn Motel.
Friday at 9 a.m.: Volunteer Lawyers for Justice (VLJ) will hold free legal aid clinics at Brookdale Community College in Hazlet for New Jersey residents dealing with legal issues directly related to Superstorm Sandy.
Plan your weekend
The Holmdel Community United Church of Christ is gathering volunteers to head to Union Beach on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Any questions, please contact Sede Spang, 732-671-9196 or atspang@verizon.net.
Holmdel Community Day is on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m., first at the Village School and then following at Cross Farm Park. Food vendors will be selling a large variety of food for your enjoyment, and craft vendors will have their new and handmade artwork on display for you to purchase.
Bring your new puppy to the Holmdel Community Center on Saturday at 9 a.m. for Puppy Training 101. The first class is an orientation without puppies. Pre-registration and attendance of orientation are required.
Little Women is this weekend at the Duncan Smith Theater, performed by the Holmdel Theater Company.
