Village School Outperforms 6% of Peer Schools in College Readiness
Indian Hill outperformed 19 percent of schools with a similar demographic, according to the state report card.

Village Elementary and Indian Hill Elementary schools in Holmdel outperformed less than 20 percent of like-schools on academic achievement, according to the NJ State Report Card.
Village Elementary School outperformed 91 percent of the state in academic achievement in the 2011-12 school year, and 60 percent of the schools with a similar demographic.
According to the NJDOE, academic achievement measures content knowledge in language arts and math, factoring in the percentage of students who reach proficient or advanced proficient levels on NJ ASK scores.

Indian Hill outperformed 83 percent of the state and 54 percent of the schools with a similar demographic in academic achievement.
College and career readiness, which is measured on the elementary level by chronic absenteeism, shows Indian Hill outperforms the state by 66 percent and its peer groups by only 19 percent.

Village outperformed 37 percent of school statewide in the college readiness category, and only 6 percent of schools with a similar demographic.
In Monmouth County, Village School's peer group (those with a similar demographic) consisted of Sickles in Fair Haven, Defino Central in Marlboro Township, Nut Swam in Middletown, Roosevelt Elementary in Roosevelt Boro, Allenwood in Wall Township and Atlantic Highlands.
Indian Hill's peer group consisted of Asher Holmes, Dugan and Marlboro Elementary in Marlboro Township.
Note: The Holmdel Board of Education received the numbers at the same time the report card was released to the press, and has not publicly analyzed or explained the data. There is a meeting Wednesday, April 24 at 8 p.m. at the Satz Middle School.
