1M Sunflowers Wrap Around Sussex County Maze

More than a million buds of bright yellow, tall flowers are greeting the sun—and spectators—in one of the largest sunflower fields on the East Coast in Sussex County now through September.

The Sussex County Sunflower Maze, located about 1/2 mile north of Ross' Corner on Route 565 in Augusta, welcomes viewers on Tuesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The maze's owner boasts 1.5 million flowers planted on the property. Last year's maze design bore the words of "Jersey Devil Salsa," a signature product sold at a tent there.

There's more to do at the maze than just stare at the sun(flowers). A kids scavenger hunt is set up and the maze will be hosting a scarecrow contest where kids can bring their own old crows, build a scarecrow using the maze straw and enter.
