Dad Accused of Kidnapping Sons Offered 12-Year Sentence in Plea Deal: Report
Kristopher Dohm has been lodged in jail since March.

HOPATCONG - The divorced father of two accused of kidnapping his sons earlier this year has been offered a plea deal that would put him in jail for more than a decade.
Appearing in Superior Court in Newton earlier this week, Kristopher Dohm, 37, was offered a 12-year sentence in return for a guilty plea on charges of first-degree kidnapping, nj.com reported.
Dohm, who has joint custody of his sons Parker and Jaxon – who live with their mother in Morris County – told his ex-wife in February he would be taking the kids out of state to visit a sick family member. Sandra Dohm, the boys’ mother, granted approval and expected her sons back when the weekend concluded.

The boys, and Dohm, never returned, sparking a six-week, countrywide manhunt for the trio.
Dohm and the boys were found in a Florida motel along with one of the father’s childhood friends, an accused rapist wanted out of Tennessee.

The boys were met in Florida by their mother and flown back to New Jersey. Dohm was later extradited to the Sussex County Jail.
Dohm is expected to mull the offer with his attorney and is next due in court on Jan. 7, 2016, the report said.
