Decomposing Body, Dead Cat Found In North Jersey Home: Cops

Body was found after a nearby farmer noticed a disoriented, unresponsive woman at the residence in Sussex County.

New Jersey State Troopers responding to a report of a disoriented woman at a Sussex County home Sunday night found much more than a person in need of medical attention.

Troopers responded to a farmer’s 9-1-1 call for a report of a woman on the porch of her Wantage Township home who was unresponsive, police said. When they arrived, authorities found the woman, who was unable to communicate, and transported her to Newton Medical Center for evaluation and treatment.

While conducting a check of the residence, Troopers found a decomposed and partially skeletonized human body on a bed in one of the bedrooms of the house, police said. It is not yet known how long the body was there.

Troopers also said they noticed debris and garbage throughout the home and no electricity was running through the house.

One more find revealed a dead cat in the rear of a car that was parked in the driveway, police said.
