February SNAP Benefits Coming Early In Hopatcong, Sparta

HOPATCONG, NJ — Hopatcong and Sparta residents that receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will be able to access their February benefits earlier than usual.

The February benefits will appear on recipient's Families First cards on January 17. These are the only benefits recipients will get for February; there will not be a second deposit in February. The early date is because of the federal government shutdown, state officials said.

Work First New Jersey (WFNJ), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and General Assistance (GA) benefits will all be available on their regular days, officials said.

All Sussex County residents that have questions about how the shutdown will impact their benefits can contact the Sussex County Division of Social Services at (973) 383-3600 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
