Hopatcong Tree Lighting Set For Saturday

HOPATCONG, NJ - Hopatcong is set to light it up for the holidays Saturday with their annual tree lighting event, complete with a visit from the big guy himself—Santa.

The festivities are set to begin at Modick Park on the corner of Chincopee and Hopatchung at 6 p.m.

After the tree is lit, Santa will arrive on the fire truck and you will be able to visit him inside Santa's building.

"We are following safety guidelines, you won't be able to sit on Santa's lap but you will sit next to him, there is a plastic divider between the chairs," officials said.

Masks are mandatory to see Santa.

"Bring your camera to take pictures. Goodie bags, hot chocolate and cookies are free," officials said. "Happy Holidays from Hopatcong Recreation."

The Holiday Market in the Park will also be in full swing starting at 3 p.m. Most Food vendors will be along Nariticong Ave, shopping starts at 3pm, the tree lighting and Santa visit start at 6pm and we close up at 9pm! It's going to be a nice boost to the Holiday Season! Social distancing and masks are required! See you at the Marketplace!
