Meet A Future Leader In Hopatcong-Sparta: Zoe Rizzo
Patch and T-Mobile have partnered to highlight young people achieving great things in our community.
The future of Hopatcong-Sparta is looking bright, thanks to the incredible young people working to strengthen our community. In partnership with T-Mobile, Patch is proud to spotlight future leaders like Zoe Rizzo, who are making a positive impact in and around Hopatcong-Sparta.
Zoe, a graduate of Pope John High School, has been recognized for her accomplishments in scouting and community service. In 2021, as a then-junior, she received the prestigious Eagle Scout rank after creating two Little Free Libraries to foster book sharing in her community. Over the course of a month, Zoe raised $500 through a GoFundMe campaign, navigated town approvals and worked with fellow scouts, friends and family to build the libraries. This achievement follows her successful completion of the Girl Scout Gold Award, the organization’s highest honor, for which she designed a butterfly garden at Our Lady of the Lake.
Post-graduation, Zoe continued her education at Rochester Institute of Technology, currently pursuing a degree in software engineering. Outside of her coursework, she has also participated in RIT’s competitive robotics team, which placed 10th out of 96 collegiate teams in the 2023 VEX Robotics World Championships.
