Past Knights of Columbus Grand Knight Kenneth Murison Dies at 94
Tax auditor and Navy veteran moved to Hopatcong in 1957.

Kenneth A. Murison, who lived more in Hopatcong for more than five decades, died Oct. 4 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville, according to a notice on the website of Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home. He was 94 years old.
Murison was born in Charleston, W.Va. He moved to Hopatcong in 1957 and lived here for the rest of his life.
He was a tax auditor for the State of New Jersey before retiring.
A U.S. Navy veteran, Murison served as a Lt. Junior during World War II. He was past Grand Knight of the Mt. Arlington Knights of Columbus twice.
Murison stayed active throughout his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, bingo and was an avid New York Mets fan. A parishioner of St. Jude Church in Hopatcong, he had served as organist and he was namd Senior of the year in 2012.
He is survived by wife Adele Knizewski Murison, stepchildren Karen Stachnick and Jane Tyska, four stepgrandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
