Snapshot Report Of Homelessness Near Hopatcong, Sparta

NJ Counts 2020 shows a point-in-time view of homelessness in the area.

SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ - Monarch Housing has released NJ Counts 2020, New Jersey’s annual Point-In-Time (PIT) Count of the Homeless, which provides a statewide snapshot of households experiencing homelessness.

The full report details where they find shelter, what their needs are, and what factors contribute to making them homeless. The 2020 Count reveals demographic and other information about families and individuals experiencing homelessness on the night of Tuesday, Jan. 28.

These findings help to understand how to better allocate housing resources and services in order to prevent and end homelessness.

  • Andover Borough 3
  • Newton 55
  • Sussex 5

Newton, the county seat, set the high watermark by far. The total homeless population of 55 far outpaced Sussex, which came second with five.
