Sparta Police Collecting Gifts For Toys For Tots Drive

The Sparta Police Department is a drop-off site through Dec. 10 for new and unwrapped toys and gifts, for Toys for Tots Operation Toy Train.

SPARTA, NJ — After a hiatus from COVID-19 in 2020, the Toys for Tots Toy Drive is coming back to Sparta, with the Sparta Police Department a drop-off location through Friday, Dec. 10.

Anyone who would like to donate to the annual toy drive, may leave a new, unwrapped toy or gift at the Sparta Police Department or with any Sparta Police officer on or before that date.

The police department plans to bring the items collected to the historic Sparta Train Station on 30 Station Road, which normally hosts the Toys for Tots Operation Toy Train Drive each year, the police department shared on its Facebook Page.

On Friday, Dec. 10 and Saturday, Dec. 11, the Sparta Train Station’s “elves” additionally plan to take in new and unwrapped toys and gifts on those days from noon to 4 p.m., according to the train station’s website, welcoming the public to make gift donations directly.

“In order to keep everyone safe, including Santa since he has a big day coming up, we will not be having any indoor activities or photos with Santa this year,” the Sparta Train Station explained. “But we still need you to stop by! The Toys for Tots Operation Toy Train needs your help collecting toys for families in need this Christmas.”
