Support The National Home For Children At A Sparta VFW Clam Bake
The clam bake is on Sept. 11 from 2 to 6 p.m. Tickets are $60 for the general public and $40 for military personnel and first responders.
SPARTA, NJ — Support the Veterans of Foreign Wars' National Home for Children by joining the Sparta VFW at its 5th annual clam bake on Sept. 11.
Steamed clams and a raw bar will be served, as will burgers, Jersey rippers, sausage and peppers, corn, Jersey tomatoes, salad and dessert. Soda and draft beer will be included, according to a flyer posted by TAPinto Sparta.
The clam bake will run from 2 to 6 p.m. at the VFW (66 Main St.). Tickets are $60 for the general public and $40 for active duty military personnel, veterans, department of defense personnel and first responders, the flyer said. Children under 16 accompanied by a parent are free.

The National Home for Children helps the families of active-duty military personnel, veterans and relatives of VFW and VFW Auxiliary members set up their plans and goals for the future.

It provides them with educational, enrichment and recreational opportunities, community resources and counseling, and free housing and daycare, according to the organization's website.
