Sussex Salutes Military Veterans With 16th Annual Commemoration Event

The 16th annual Salute to Military Veterans event is slated for Nov. 6 at the Sussex County Fairgrounds.

AUGUSTA, N.J.– The 16th annual Salute to Military Veterans event is slated for Nov. 6 at the Sussex County Fairgrounds.

The event, which begins at 1 p.m., will feature a fly-over by a World War II military aircraft and a parade highlighting veterans of all services branches, civic groups, community bands and local high school bands.

Also on the schedule: reading of student essays and a 21-gun salute for prisoners of war (POWs) and those declared missing in action (MIA).

Veterans in attendance will receive a commemorative pin from the Sussex County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

The Sussex County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the Sussex County Division of Senior Services and the Veterans Committee coordinated the event.
