Three Injured After Dump Truck Collides With Audi on Route 517 In Sparta: Police

Shortly before 8 a.m., a 2006 Peterbilt dump truck struck a 2012 Audi on Route 517 causing injuries and delays, police said.

SPARTA, N.J.– A motor vehicle accident between a dump truck and an Audi caused long delays on Route 517 in Sparta on Friday morning, authorities said.

Shortly before 8 a.m., a 2006 Peterbilt driven by 51-year-old Brian P. Singh of the Bronx, lost control of his vehicle and struck a 2012 Audi head on, Sgt. Dennis Proctor said.

The Audi driver, 42-year-old Sonia A. Antunes of Sparta was transported to Newton Medical Center along with her 9- and 10-year-old sons, who were traveling with her, Proctor said.

Singh was uninjured in the crash and issued a summons for careless driving, according to the sergeant.
