Veterans Honored at St. Mary's in Sparta
Rev. Carol Gadsden blessed congregants on Sunday who served in the military to mark Veterans Day.
In recognition of Veterans' Day, St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Sparta honored members of its congregation who served as members of the U.S. armed forces on Sunday.
Veterans of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines were recognized. Of the 14 veterans present, their respective service ran the gamut from World War II through Operation Enduring Freedom.
The Rev. Carol Gadsden, St. Mary's rector, wrote a prayer for the occasion and individually blessed each veteran in thanksgiving for his service.
